As my life tarries on and I grow closer to my one year birthday (which is a mere 113 days and counting) I gain more and more knowledge and awareness of the dangers associated with this thing called "life." The specific dangers to which I refer, is one that every single one of you "adults" engages in daily. This danger, of which I speak, is mobility.
I recently learned how to get myself from point A to point B, that isn't to say that it is your stereotypical crawl, but I get there. The thing about crawling on your hands and knees is that it is just so "average," and as anyone who knows me knows, I am anything but average. The way that I do it, is that I roll onto my side, and push myself along with my leg. Yes, I am aware, this only gets me up and down...side to side is another story. The way that I do that, is that I scooch to the height of the object and then simply roll in the direction, what can I say, I am a problem solver. In terms of personal mobility, I also stand and walk with help, and make feeble attempts at walking around the furniture.
Now that you have an idea of my mode of transportation, lets discuss the dangers associated. I have rolled off the couch, rolled into the table (and wacked my head a few times trying to crawl under it), fallen onto my tush while attempting to walk (which is surprisingly painful given the amount of padding provided), rolled over a number of pointy toys, fallen into toys while I am face planting in order to go mobile from a sitting position, just to name a few. I just don't know how kids progress with this mobility thing...it seems to me that you shouldn't continue to do things that lead to pain...I guess I am just a genius and those around me are the ones confused.
Getting beyond this hang-up, I am doing so many amazing things and have had a number of other (some painful) experiences to speak of this month.
Mom and dad say that I am growing like a weed (whatever a weed is) and most other babies my age aren't doing half the stuff I am doing right now, I guess I am just special (no big surprise there, have you met my mom?). After the pooping incident, I have had to drink Miralax every day to keep myself regular. It's not so bad, however mom did drink some of my Miralax water the other day, which was really hilarious if I do say so myself. Mom now keeps that water in a special place. But regardless, it has worked its intestinal magic and I am now crapping once daily, like clockwork.
I got my first tooth early in the month of July and just got my second one yesterday. Mom says that I look soo adorable, and t
I can sit up all on my own without tipping or falling over anymore, aside from the occasional time when I want to throw a fit. Speaking of fits, I have developed an intense personality and will be very vocal about my needs. I don't like it when people take my toys or when you don't let me play with WHATEVER I want. I like to eat anything that I can get my hands on, however paper and keys are my present naughty desire.
I still don't get nervous around people and I love it when you pay attention to me. If you take my picture I am a total ham and LOVE to show off my pearly white.
I have been staying at home while mommy goes to school in the morning with my Aunty Emily and my little cousin Angelee. We have so much fun and I love to spend time with them. Angelee is one of my favorite people and she tells me all the time that she wis
I went to the cabin for the first time in the middle of June and did so many neat and amazing things with my mommy, daddy and Grandma and Grandpa. We sat around the fire, I got to play in dirt and try to eat all the stuff around me (including an unsuspecting pinecone), I rode on an ATV, played in a meadow, watched a few movies, slept horribly (but I got to sleep with mommy, so that's probably why, she is SUCH a bed hog), went on walks, and ate some delicious food. It is one of my favorite places to be and Grandpa says that I am just like my mommy was when she came up to the cabin when she was little like me. I went up there again last weekend, but mommy and daddy didn't come because they had a lot of stuff going on. I went with my Grandpa and Grandma and Aunt and Uncle. I had a ton of fun and even though I didn't really sleep well the first night, I slept like a rock the second night. I went on an ATV ride again, but this time with Aunty Chelsea and Uncle Trevor, went fishing, ate lots of good food, played games and watched fire, played in dirt and got really messy, sang, talked and watched a couple movies. I can't wait until I get to go there again!
I go to my swimming lessons every day that it is nice and I couldn't love the water any more. It is my favorite place to be and when its time to go, I like to throw a fit, just to show mom how much I like it there.
I went to my first birthday parties for my friends Bailey and Cali and I had a lot of fun, but I still don't think it is fair that they got all that paper and I wasn't allowed to have it. Mom says I will get paper soon enough, but it has been like 2 weeks and I still haven't gotten my box of paper. I love spending time with my friends and we play and share our pacifiers, even though the mommies say no, we keep trying.
I hold my bottle, and my sippy cup, I am pulling myself up to stand up, I say "mama," "dad," "baba," and "non" (for my Great Grandma nonnie) among a number of other things, but mom and dad don't know what I am saying then. I can wave bye bye if you wave at me and understand some sign language (but I can't quite use it yet). I like to dance when there is music on and am constantly smiling.
I have to go to the doctor in just 15 days and even though I don't have to get shots, I am still a little nervous.
I will make sure I let everyone know just how big I am after we find out.
